4 Ways to Stand Out on Pinterest in 2023
We all know each platform has it’s do’s and don’t’s but even when you follow all the rules, sometimes it’s hard to stand out among the noise. In this post, I’m going to give you 4 tips for taking your Pinterest game to the next level and stand out from the crowd this year. Having worked on many Pinterest accounts and spent countless hours researching, I promise these tips are tiny but mighty because many people miss the mark on implementing them.
- Optimize Your Profile
First things first, make sure your Pinterest profile is optimized for success. This means having a clear profile picture, an engaging bio that showcases your brand’s personality, and relevant keywords in your username and bio to help people find you when they search for related topics. You should also verify your website, which will help to establish trust with potential customers (AND the Pinterest algorithm). Beyond that, make sure you include keywords in all of your pins themselves so you target the right audience. Pinners who are searching for those keywords will ultimately find your pins if you just be sure to include them!
- Create Eye-Catching Graphics
Pinterest is all about visual content, so it’s crucial that your graphics are eye-catching and visually appealing. Use high-quality images, contrasting colors, and easy to read typography to create pins that stand out and get noticed (like the tulip in the pic). - Provide Value with Your Content
While it’s important to create visually appealing graphics, it’s equally important to provide value with your content. Your pins should be informative, inspiring, or entertaining, and should offer something of value to your audience. Whether it’s a recipe, a DIY tutorial, or an inspirational quote, make sure your pins provide something that your audience will find useful or interesting. In other words, Pinners (Pinterest users) aren’t there to watch you dance or point at air bubbles like on “other” platforms- they want content that will answer questions in depth, inspire them, encourage them and give solutions. This is the core of content marketing, not social selling.
4. Use Analytics to Refine Your Strategy
Finally, make sure you’re using Pinterest analytics to track your performance and refine your strategy over time. Keep an eye on your engagement rates, click-through rates (AKA “Outbound clicks”), and saves, and use this data to make informed decisions about what’s working and what’s not.
